As a parent, I make difficult choices every day. Choosing where my child goes to school should not be one of them. Every child, regardless of their background, identity, ability, or zip code, has the right to attend a school that best meets their needs. A school that prioritizes academic growth and achievement for all, well-being, the Habits of Success (entrepreneurial skills, mindset, and behaviors), the home-school partnership, and innovation. I know firsthand that a child’s K-12 educational experience impacts the rest of their life.
John Oxaal, Carolina Achieve’s founding board chair, and I firmly believe in the power education has to transform someone’s life. While we grew up in different parts of the country with vastly different educational experiences, our view of education is the same. Every child has the right to a tuition-free, whole-child, learner-centered, high-quality education. An education that is built on a strong academic and social-emotional foundation that prepares them for the career of their choosing and to become contributing members of their community.
Purpose. People. Place. From the moment that you walk into our school, it will feel different. We are committed to creating systems and supports that both nurture and strengthen the partnership between students, families, and educators. Our goal is to ensure that every child is known and is connected to our community because students who feel seen and connected thrive both academically and personally.
