Relationships are at the heart of the Carolina Achieve community. Learners at Carolina Achieve will be deeply known, collaborate closely, and form meaningful relationships across lines of difference that nurtures empathy, foster belonging, support well-being, and build social capital. Students who are connected to their peers and teachers are more likely to succeed academically, grow personally, and contribute to their community.

Carolina Achieve will have an interconnected advisory system that will be the foundation for student success inside and outside of the classroom. All students will be assigned a Success Coach. This person will meet with students multiple times every school day and serve as their guide throughout the year. The group of students assigned to one coach will be called the Student Success Team and they have the following goals:

  • Develop relationships
  • Build healthy practices
  • Establish school norms, patterns, and culture
  • Support executive function, reflection practices, and metacognition
  • Build capacity for academic and social-emotional growth and achievement
  • Reinforce and uphold matriculation agreements

The Success Coach will be a family’s first point of contact at Carolina Achieve. They will communicate with families on a consistent basis and work to strengthen the connection between students, families, and the school.
